Complaint: I purchased a new 2010 VW Jetta off the car carrier 7 months ago. It has a ambient outside noise on the drivers door along the window channel. It was taken to a VW garage for repair, they replaced the window channel weather strip. It did not fix the problem. I took it to the garage where it was purchased. Day VW in moon Twp. PA. They also replaced the same window channel with no luck. The service advisor along with the service manager heard the noise and said it was not aceptable for a VW to have that noise. A service ticket was generated with VW along with customer service department getting involved. The car went in on Feb. 28th with a loaner being provided. The district service manager from VW was called in and he evaluated the Jetta, stating the door was off ever so much and he wanted another new door seal and a new windor channel be installed along with the door adjusted. All this was done and the ambient outside noise was still present. The last step was to replace the door keeping the outside skin intact. That was ordered and installed along with new door seals and window channel. The ambient outside noise was dampened slighlty but not gone after all the repairs. The total time without my vehicle was 29 days. I just recieved a call from the customer service representative from VW stating my claim was closed stating the noise met the VW standards. I can say that I am not happy with the whole experience. No one would take ownership of the problem just stating the noise met the VW standard and they washed their hands. Leaving me a unhappy customer and stuck with this car. The noise gets worse with highway driving and is not acceptable to me. It was a new car and purchsed defect free as I thought. Beware of VW of America, they are about thenselves and not the customer. They got their money from me. I will think again when I need to purchase another car from VW of America.
